VIDEO EDITING AND PRODUCTION

She sees them walking in a straight line, that’s not really her style.
And they all got the same heartbeat, but hers is falling behind.
Nothing in this world could ever bring them down.
Yeah, they’re invincible, and she’s just in the background.
And she says,
“I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
‘Cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.
He sees them talking with a big smile, but they haven’t got a clue.
Yeah, they’re living the good life, can’t see what he is going through.
They’re driving fast cars, but they don’t know where they’re going.
In the fast lane, living life without knowing.
And he says,
“I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
‘Cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
‘Cause all the cool kids, they seem to get it.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.”
And they said,
“I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
‘Cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
‘Cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
‘Cause all the cool kids, they seem to get it.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.”
Like the cool kids
The song that i have chosen is ECHOSMITH --COOL KIDS. This song is about a young girl that doesn’t fit in. She’s not a popular girl. Her feelings about being a social outcast are documented in this song by Echosmith. To “fit in” is to be accepted by one’s peers. The girl feels ostracized by her agemates. “The good life” at this age is a life of popularity among peers. Many of the young people are all “followers” who simply copy the crowd, they are all trying to fit in and be accepted. The popular kids don’t notice the emotional difficulties that the less popular kids face. The fast cars are metaphors for the lives of the “cool kids.” They dwell in the social spotlight but have no real goals or ambitions in life, nothing that keeps them focuses, “they” as is “the cool kids” themselves, deep down, don’t really know if they truly fit in of if they truly get it. Echosmith is singing from a young’s perspective, showing that feeling like an outcast is an experience that can be had by both young girls and young boys. “They” indicates that many young people suffer through feelings of rejection and social marginalization. The point of this song, it tell the listener that being the "cool kids" isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,  it reassure the listener that don’t need to be in the "cool kids"clique to be cool and happy and satisfied with their life, accept yourself and that's all it to be cool and happy, be a real cool kid. It's really cool that everyone is able to connect on that level and to be able to embrace who you are. It represent me personally. This somewhat relates to my life, I ve got friend that who re popular, they wear nice clothes, they all date each other, party every night. For me, even if you were student and get invited to more parties than Lindsey Lohan, you can feel like you sometimes don’t fit in, because I m actually not a social active person, I felt tired. They like to gossip a lot, use to reflection on other people, laughing at people's clothing, this i snot my style. But as one of the gang you must agree what they said, not agree means you re being weird. I am really unhappy that forcing myself to follow them, so I stop caring what others thinking of me, I chose to quit the group, and now I feel more comfortable that no gossip but talkative, no parties but small gathering. Be cool, be yourself.
